PRIVACY PRACTICES

Credit Reporting Agency has created this privacy policy in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices specifically for annualcreditreport.co.uk.

We do not pass your personal information to any third party except as set out in our terms and conditions, in particular when under compulsion of law or with your consent to do so.

We use your IP address to help diagnose problems with our server and to administer our website. Your IP address is used to help identify you and your search requirements and to gather broad demographic information.

The registration process requires you to give contact information (such as your name and email address), unique identifiers (such as your password), and demographic information (such as your postcode). This information is used for the purposes of setting up your customer details and ultimately is used to obtain your credit report from a credit reference agency.

We use customer contact information from the registration process to communicate with you. We will send you emails at a frequency of no more than one per month to keep you up to date on matters relating to credit, credit report information and privacy. You may opt out of receiving these emails at any time.

We do not pass your information to any third party for the purpose of sending you unsolicited emails.

We collect data from your credit report for the purposes of statistical analysis. We also use it to check the continuing accuracy of credit scores provided. Such data is held anonymously and is aggregated with many thousands of other data so there is no possibility of disclosure of your personal financial information.

From time to time we may be required to authenticate you as part of our security processes. Amongst other things we may ask for your driving licence number, or National Insurance number. We ask for this information because we have tools available which use this information to help verify your identity. We never reveal exactly how we do this, nor how we validate the rest of the information you provide.

From time to time we may also ask you to provide original utility bills, bank statements or credit card statements addressed to you at your current and previous addresses. We only seek such information when we need to verify your current address and to protect the privacy of your information. Such documents are kept confidential whilst being processed, are not stored on computer, and are destroyed after being used to verify your addresses.
