Can I have access to an instant online credit report?
Not the first time you sign up. This is because we need to authenticate you. We do this by sending a security code to the address you gave us by first class post. If you’re in a mad hurry, you can obtain an instant online credit report by opting to pay £1.77 to use our online authentication system, which does give access to an instant online credit report, providing you answer the questions correctly of course. But we don’t push that, it’s optional. We think most people can wait a day or so the first time they use us. For the few that really need an instant online credit report or who are happy to blow away £1.77, the option is there. But make sure you have your driving licence, bank and credit card statements readily to hand, as the questions are reassuringly tough. Once you have been authenticated, by the online authentication system, you can then access your instant online credit report. If you choose to upgrade to a monthly service, there’s a small fee. Or if you’re happy to check your credit reports on an annual basis, which we think will suit most people, the service is entirely free. Unless you opt for instant online credit report access or monthly credit reports, we don't ask you for your credit card details, or for your phone numbers, or for details of your financial connections. We won’t push you to buy anything at all, but if you really need an instant online credit report, you can have one, for the optional fee of just £1.77, but remember to get the questions right. |
