Two CIFAS Case Types may appear on your credit report.
Protective Registration - these are warnings that appear on your credit report for 12 months after you have purchased this service from CIFAS or indirectly from another provider.
Victim of Impersonation - if you have been a victim of identity fraud and if your lender has filed this type of CIFAS warning for your own protection, this type of fraud warning is shown similarly for 12 months after lodgment.
Case Types are categories of fraud warning that are used by CIFAS members to help identify impersonation attempts and other types of fraud. In addition to the two CIFAS Case Types that routinely appear on the credit reports that are visible to consumers, there are many others that appear only on the version of your credit report that CIFAS members see. If you wish to see all of the information that CIFAS holds about you, you will need to make a Subject Access Request to CIFAS.
