UK owned company, part of the Skipton Group, established in 2001. The newest of the main three consumer credit reference agencies operating in the UK that collects information about you from several sources and whose principal business is putting the information together into credit files and then selling them to companies, banks, building societies, credit card companies, employers, landlords and others. Like the other two credit reference agencies, Callcredit do not offer lenders or others an opinion on your credit worthiness, just factual data – the lender then makes a decision based on credit report data and other information on your application form, such as income. Information compiled by Callcredit and other credit reference agencies includes public information, such as electoral roll listings and court information and also financial information, such as credit account details and fraud warnings.
Callcredit, like the other two credit reference agencies will carry information on you at your current as well as any previous addresses you have had. A Callscore is a credit score provided by Callcredit to help indicate your credit worthiness. By law, Callcredit must provide you with a copy of your statutory credit file by post for the statutory fee of £2. The other two credit reference agencies in the UK are Equifax and Experian.
