How does online credit reporting work?
It’s simple. First, you need to register for free online credit reporting. Just follow the three easy steps shown on our home page. As we pioneered online credit reporting in the UK, and because we are entirely internet based, this enables us to keep our costs down and provide you with a detailed free credit report. Not just now, but every year going forward, for as long as you receive our monthly money-saving tips email. You will be able to see your free credit report as soon as we authenticate you. We do this by sending you an access code through the post to the address you give us. This means you'll usually be able to see your online credit report within a matter of days. If you need to see your credit report more urgently, we offer an entirely optional online authentication service which enables you to see your report instantly (so long as you get the questions right of course) - though there is a small fee of just £1.77 for this service. We stress that this is entirely optional. Once you have been authenticated, online credit reporting is instantly available. If you wish to see your credit score, we can provide that too you for £3.77 – a fraction of the fee charged by other credit reference agencies. We also provide a monthly subscription to obtain your online credit report for only £2.97 per month. Again, this is entirely optional. There’s no hard sell. Other online credit reporting services require you to give credit card details and offer one-off trial subscriptions. We don’t. Instead, we provide – entirely free - online credit reporting with no catch. If you want extra services, they are optional. We won’t push you to buy them, but if you choose to do so, you’ll find honest, low prices and the most comprehensive choice of online credit reporting in the UK. We also give you unbiased and expert advice on which lenders are likely to accept your credit applications, based on your credit reporting information, entirely free. Using our online credit reporting services also entitles you to access the free advice, protection and resolution services offered through NITAC – the National Identity Theft Advice Centre, which is only available to subscribers of our online credit reporting service. |
