Environmental Policy

Our environmental policy aims to address things that we can control and influence.

We are committed to becoming a role model in our sector for best practice in environmental performance and also to reduce the impact on the environment from our operations.

Our aim is to meet the full requirements of the international standard ISO 14001.

We currently:

• Use email as a preferred communication medium, over letters.
• Recycle all cardboard, waste paper, cans and tins and glass.
• Recycle all used electrical equipment though the Computer Aid scheme.
• Purchase locally where we can.
• Operate from a purpose built, modern, sustainable building.
• Heat and cool the office efficiently using the latest turbine technology and energy efficient boilers, harnessing natural heat sources when possible to minimise pollution from greenhouse gas emissions.
• Use energy saving lighting throughout our offices.
• Discourage inefficient travel - we have a travel to work policy that encourages car sharing. We have shower facilities for those who cycle to work. Our out of town office is easily accessible by main roads. We have a dedicated bus stop adjacent to our office.
• For external meetings we encourage conference calls rather than off site meetings.
• Our staff facilities use Fairtrade products wherever possible.
• Encourage all of our staff to reduce the environmental impact and encourage them to develop new ideas.
